** Please note, ZIP TIES must be used on shoes and are recommended for attaching tags to odd shaped items like toys. Wire and plastic tube hangers for clothing are preferred. If absolutely necessary, you may use plastic hangers from the store. Please note that these break a lot easier than wire or plastic tube hangers.**
Supply Tips:
● Use good quality safety pins. Cheap safety pins bend and fold. They won't hold the weight of the clothing.
● Use 65lb. white card stock only at minimum. Regular weight paper (20lb.) will not be accepted. It tears and folds easily.
● Zip-ties (Cable-ties) can be used to secure tags to a variety of items; toys, furniture, and shoes (manditory). Purses, backpacks, diaper bags and baby carriers also need to be zip-tied to hangers.
● Many times dry cleaners will give you hangers for free. All you have to do is ask!

Guidelines for Clothing
Please review our What We Accept document for a detailed listing of what we will accept at our Winter sale.
Price: Here is a printable Pricing Guide!
Clothing: Clothing should be priced at a minumum of $3. If a single piece of clothing does not have a $3 value, put multiple onto to a single hanger (i.e. sell as a set) to reach at least $3.
0-24 month clothing should be priced competitively, there is a lot of clothing in this size range.
Clothing 2T and above can be priced slightly higher. Price items for what you would want to pay at a JBF sale. It is highly recommended that clothing items go 50% off on the last day of the sale.
Hangers: Wire (preferred) and plastic tube hangers are accepted. If absolutely necessary, you may use plastic hangers from the store. Please note that these break a lot easier than wire or plastic tube hangers. No swivel or pant (clip) hangers.
Please hang clothes so the hanger hook points to the left (like a question mark). Hang size 0-4 clothing on child-size or adult-size hangers and sizes 5 & up and maternity clothing on adult-size hangers.
Safety Pins: Please use #1 or larger safety pins. No mini safety pins or straight pins, they do not hold the clothing.
Attaching Tags: Tags should be safety pinned to the top right corner of shirts and/or pants. When using a tagging gun, place tag through clothing tag. If there is no tag, place in inside seam of the garment. DO NOT put tagging gun needle through cloth of garment, it will get ruined and pulled from the sale. Items with holes from tagging guns can not be sold. If you are using a tagging gun, please review these guidelines.
Clothing Sets: Sets tend to sell better (under size 6) so match tops and bottoms up if you can. Safety pin to attach clothing sets securely with bottom garment hung on the backside of the shirt at the top of the hanger, so both pieces can be viewed without separating them.
Pants/Shorts/Skirts: Safety pin waist to top of hanger. Safety pins should be closer together than the diagonal portion of the hanger is long, so that the item will not slide around the hanger. Another option is to use dry cleaner hangers with paper. Pinning through the paper will keep pants/shorts/skirts from sliding around the hanger. Please do not use pant hangers (with the clips) - clothing falls off too easily during the event.
TIP: When hanging strappy items or items such as skirts or pants (items that can easily slide around on the hanger), use either dry cleaner hangers with the paper still attached or create a "tab" on either side of the top of the hanger with packing tape to pin the item/s through. This will prevent the item/s from sliding around and bunching up on the hanger.
Onesies: including new-in-package, need to be hung.
Maternity: Please secure tops with safety pins to the hanger since they have a tendency to fall off.
All pants must be pinned at the waist to the top of the hangers so shoppers can see them easily. Pants folded over hangers will not be accepted. Maternity pants only may be hung on pant hangers.
Clothing/Hanging Items:
• Be picky! Look at your clothing items as if you were going to purchase them.
• No stained or damaged items will be accepted.
• Clothing can be no older than five years old; Junior and Maternity no older than three years.
• Freshly launder your clothing items. The newer the item looks (and the better it smells), the better it will sell.
• Replace missing buttons, sew loose hems and seams, and clip loose threads.
• Button all buttons, snap all snaps, zip all zippers before you arrive at drop off. This will ensure that there are no defects in the clothing.

Guidelines for Shoes
Shoes must be in excellent condition and should start at $3.00.
We are accepting shoes that are appropriate for warmer weather. Please save the snow boots for our Fall sale.
Punch a hole in the top of your tag and attach the tag to the shoes with zip ties. For shoes that do not have anywhere to zip tie, you may put the shoes in a clear self-seal bag. This is to be used as a last resort. No shoes boxes please.

Guidelines for Toys & Games
Ensure toys and games are clean, complete and in working order. Secure all parts/pieces of toys and games in small ziplock bags, tape shut and attach to the larger part of the toy.
Items requiring batteries: All toys, games, equipment, etc. that require batteries must have working batteries for the duration of the sale. If batteries are required to be replaced during the sale a $1/battery (AAA, AA) and $2/battery (all other sizes) will be charged.
We only accept stuffed toys that are charactors (e.g. Mickey Mouse, Disney princess, etc.) or are battery operated.

Guidelines for Books, Puzzles & Video Games
Books
Tie sets of books together with ribbon/string.
When tagging books, please attach your tag to the book with blue 'painters' tape that can be removed without damaging the item. Please do not use masking, packing or double sided tape.
Puzzles
Use clear, self-seal bags or clear cling wrap (saran wrap) to hold puzzles together.
Do not tape tags directly on wooden puzzles, which will tear stickers on puzzle.
Tape tag to the outside cover of books, games, and video games.
Ensure games and puzzles have all pieces before tagging.
Games and DVDs
Check DVDs and video games for scratches and double check to ensure the disk is in the case. No "adult" content or "M" video games are accepted.

Guidelines for Accessories
Socks, hats, bibs & other accessories
Are best pinned together, not in bags. For multiple pairs of socks, place in clear zip-top bag. Secure all bags closed with packing tape. Avoid using bags when possible.
We will have small clips available at the event to hang your accessories.
Large Items & Multiple Pieces
Baby equipment (strollers, bouncers, swings, pack n plays, exersaucers, high chairs, etc), ride on toys and furniture are FAST sellers at JBF. Check to ensure there are no recalls for your items before tagging them. Ensure your items are CLEAN!
If you have a large item (think too big to carry to the Hold area) like a pack and play, changing table, train table, toy kitchen, etc. please bring your JBF tag (printed on white card stock) in hand to the sale. We'll show you how to attach it to your item securely using our yellow claim tickets. This makes it easier for our shoppers to buy your great items!
Mulitple pieces: If an item has multiple pieces use packaging tape, zip-ties, or string to keep items attached together. If wooden furniture has loose parts, use clear plastic wrap to secure item.
Print 1 tag with the price and "1 of 3", for example. Then create and print subsequent tags with $0 for the price and "2 of 3" and "3 of 3" (or however many pieces the items has). Attach one tag to each piece. This helps ensure everyone know what goes together and sells as a set!
*Note* JBF will pull any recalled, stain, worn, broken unacceptable items from our sales floor. Please check and double check your items before tagging and bringing them to the event. All items pulled from the floor will be availale for pick-up on Sunday, November 15th at the Overland Park Convention Center.

Textiles, Bedding & Room Decor
Bedding/Textiles: Please be selective when selling these items. Shoppers are less likely to purchase these items used, so prices have to be low. Suggest pricing at 75%-90% off retail.
• Blankets/Receiving Blankets
• Burp Cloths
• Towels
• Shopping Cart Covers
• Bassinet, Crib, and Toddler Size Sheets
• Mattress Covers/Protectors
• Changing Pad Protectors/Covers
Bedding/nursery sets and comforters will be accepted. Sheet sets for twin beds and smaller are accepted.
Crib bumpers (including mesh ones) will not be accepted.
Hanging: All sheets, blankets, towels, etc. need to be hung. Adult plastic tube hangers or dry cleaner hangers with cardboard bottoms work best. Secure these items to the hanger by pinning directly under the bottom of the hanger after folding item in half over the hanger.
Room Decor: Child appropriate room decor items are accepted. Breakable items are discouraged as the venue floor is made of concrete.
High Value Items
Please bring all high value items to the greeter's attention when dropping off so that we can properly secure them.
Guarantee Your Items
We do not want you to worry about your items going missing. While there is a small chance of that happening given the nature of a retail environment, we have many procedures in place to protect your items. For those who would like a little more piece of mind, we do offer a guarantee program. This will involve a little more work at drop off and pick up but if something that you brought to drop off doesn't sell and isn't in your pile at pick up, we will pay you for that item if you are participating in our guarantee program. For more information, please email Stephanie.
